The Problem With Traditional Swimwear

Here's something most swimwear brands don't tell you: traditional swimsuits are designed on a size AU8 body, then sizes are simply graded up and down from there.

What does that mean in practice? It means the curves, the depth, and the structure are all built for one specific body, then mathematically scaled for everyone else with no real adjustments for how a body actually changes across sizes. No consideration for the way support needs to change for different bodies.

The result? Swimsuits that dig in at the bust, pull across the hips, gap at the back, and offer very little real support for the average woman's body. You've probably felt it. That familiar wrestle in the changing room. The constant readjusting in the pool. The sense that the swimsuit was designed for someone else.

Introducing the Artesands Curve Fit

Every single Artesands swimsuit is designed on a size AU18 body. From the very beginning.

That starting point changes everything. Instead of grading up from a smaller base, we build real curves into the pattern from the start, which means more depth and room where women actually need it: across the bust, through the hips, at the stomach, around the bottom, and under the arms. We then grade up and down from this point, so our full size range from 10-24 has curve proportions built in from the start.

What this means for you is a swimsuit that actually fits in all the right places the moment you put it on. The kind of comfortable confidence that means you stop thinking about adjusting your swimsuit and get back to actually enjoying your day.

The Features That Make It Work

Good fit starts with smart design. Here are the key supportive features you'll find across our range, and what they actually do.

A firm, supportive mesh lining that wraps the entire swimsuit. It holds everything gently in place, all the way around, so you feel secure and supported from every angle.

Structured cups designed to work across a range of cup sizes, not just one. They move with you, hold their shape in the water, and mean you're not relying on a tiny foam insert to do all the work.

For those who want it, underwire is built in with comfort in mind, soft-tipped and carefully placed so it supports without digging. Real bra-level support, in a swimsuit.

Wider straps distribute weight more evenly across your shoulders, which makes an enormous difference in comfort over a full day at the beach or pool. Adjustable so you can get the lift and support that feels right for you.

Sturdy, reliable clips that actually hold, because nothing should come loose mid swim. These are designed to last and to keep everything exactly where you want it.

A built-in shelf bra adds an extra layer of support and structure, so even styles without underwire give you that held-in, secure feeling.
