Sustainability

What’s this all about?

In a nutshell, what this means is that we take a sustainable and ethical approach in the manufacture, design and materials of our swimwear. This, in turn, maximises the benefits to the consumer and society at large, while at the same time minimising our impact on the environment.

At Artesands we genuinely care about sustainability and making a difference both in the curvy swimwear industry and the wider world

So, to show you that we are ‘walking the talk’, here’s what we are doing about it:

i=Change

We have partnered with i=Change in our mission to make positive changes and to work towards a more inclusive and equal future.

We donate $1 of every sale to a charity of our customer's choice, we also accept additional donations from our customers.

We are honoured to be able to support charities facilitating impactful change for those in need and we welcome you to join us on this journey.

To participate in creating change, simply engage with the i=Change pop-up after completing your order. The full donation reaches your selected charity. No transaction or processing fees will be charged.

Help us make a difference today. Your choice = change.

Upparel Recycling

Recycling is the one thing we can all do to reduce our impact on the planet. It’s a great way to reduce the amount of waste we produce and helps ensure the future of our amazing planet.

But, when we say ‘recycling’, we aren’t just referring to glass bottles and cardboard boxes – we’re also talking about textile recycling.

Artesands has teamed up with Upparel to tackle the amount of textile waste produced by the fashion industry – and here’s how you can get involved:

Upparel offer a simple and easy collection service to enable you to recycle your unwanted textiles.

Any time you want to get rid of old clothes, head on over to this link to book your collection. Then simply pack your items into a box and leave it at your front door. Each collection costs a minimum of $25, BUT if you book through this link, you will receive a $35 voucher to redeem on your next purchase from Artesands*.

Let’s work together to take care of our planet. Start recycling your textiles today!

Recycled Bases

The World Economic Forum estimates that fashion production makes up 10 percent of humanity’s carbon emissions, while also depleting water sources and generating environmental pollution.

With the development of recycled Nylon, we, at Artesands, have wasted no time in getting onboard the recycling train. Recycled Nylon is an eco-friendly fibre (largely produced from old fishing nets, carpets and tights) with a production process that has a low impact on the environment. It is a great solution to divert rubbish from the ocean.

So, what does this mean for Artesands and our customers?

Recycled bases refers to the base cloth / fabrication that our swimwear is made from. We are fast moving to using 100% recycled nylon in our swimwear, that has been generated from post-consumer waste.

Our designs are carefully chosen and then printed on a quality and comfortable recycled nylon fabrication as part of our new sustainable range. Swimsuits made from 100% recycled nylon from post-consumer waste – that’s a big tick in our books!

Compostable Mailer Bags

In keeping with our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, at Artesands we’ve moved to using only compostable bags to send orders to our customers.

Unlike regular mailers, these compostable mailers are made from plant-based materials and other certified compostable resources.

They’re eco-friendly because they can quite literally be composted in the soil or a compost bin and break down in around six months. Unlike plastic and even some paper, these compostable bags won’t end up in landfill.

At Artesands we are always open to your feedback and suggestions for ways we can improve our sustainability offerings and make a positive difference to our planet.
