Meet the Artist, Freida Kahlo
Kahlo is the first family that we are offering in our Arte range and is named after the extremely well-known Mexican painter Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón or better known just as Frida Kahlo. Kahlo was mostly known for herself portraits, pain and passion, and bold powerful colours. She painted herself repeatedly, exploring, questioning, and staging herself and identity. “They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn’t,” she said. “I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality.”

Our one size crinkle fabrication Kahlo Bikini Set LOVES your curves. Made from a tubular knit, this bikini set is a sporty crop matched back with a mid rise high leg swim pant. The Kahlo Bikini Set has a sleek design, featuring thick supportive straps, a thick underbust elastic, and a scoop back top that is paired with a high leg, mid rise swim pant. This set is made from our one size crinkle tubular knit fabrication that moulds to your body and enhances your beautiful curves. This style fits an A-G cup bust depending on your personal coverage preferences and is one size fits most.

Wirefree comfort
This Arte collection is part of our wirefree comfort styles with bust support offered through the swimwear construction and fabrications. As this is our one size swimwear collection the swimsuits don’t have any internal support. This allows them to be more flexible and form fitting on the body.
Crinkle knit fabrication
The crinkle fabric we use in Arte production is a unique knit that is made in the UK. It can be compared to a stretchy tube, similar to a bandage that wraps around your limbs. This material is composed of highly elastic nylon that adapts to your body shape and accentuates your curves. Our one size swimsuits are available in sizes ranging from Australian 12+, 14+, 16+, 18+, 20+, 22+ and our model featured in the images is typically an 18+ with a DD cup size.
Recycled Nylon, A sustainable choice –
Our Arte range is made from a combination of recycled nylon, nylon and elastane. The World Economic Forum estimates that fashion production makes up 10 percent of humanity’s carbon emissions, while also depleting water sources and generating environmental pollution.
With the development of recycled Nylon, we, at Artesands, have wasted no time in getting onboard the recycling train. Recycled Nylon is an eco-friendly fibre (largely produced from old fishing nets, carpets and tights) with a production process that has a low impact on the environment. It is a great solution to divert rubbish from the ocean.
So, what does this mean for Artesands and our customers?
Recycled bases refers to the base cloth / fabrication that our swimwear is made from. We are fast moving to using 100% recycled nylon in our swimwear, that has been generated from post-consumer waste.
